We now have the capability of referring our patients for mental health counseling on site. As part of an more integrative medicine model, we are screening patients for anxiety and depression, reviewing the data and making referrals to counseling as part of our treatment of the person as a whole rather than a collection of symptoms.
Amanda Elliott began her career in education after receiving a BA in Early Childhood Education from Cedarville University, in Cedarville, Ohio. The first ten years of her career were spent teaching internationally in both Chengdu, China and Jakarta, Indonesia. While she enjoyed working with the kids and many aspects of teaching, she felt her passions beginning to shift towards helping others with their mental and emotional health. She then went back to school for a MA in Counseling at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
Upon graduating in 2019, she returned to Ellsworth, where she is originally from and began her career in home-based family therapy through the organization Pathways of Maine. In May 2021, she started with her current position as an Outpatient Therapist providing therapy for both adults and children at Community Health and Counseling (CHCS). Amanda is currently licensed in Maine as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. (LCPC) She is very happy to be a part of the team at Ellsworth Free Clinic.
